welcome to my second song recommendation! this song will always be dear to me, because i will never forget the way it made me feel when i first heard it. the song is called "sedona" by houndmouth. while our current weather in northeastern usa doesn't exactly match sedona's vibe, this song still makes me want to roll down my windows and spontaneously go on a road trip. the free-flowing progression and subtle bass make my heart beat just a little faster while also giving me chills. houndmouth began their musical journey in new albany, indiana back in 2011. this indie-alt band consists of three valuable members: matt myers on guitar & vocals, zak appleby on bass & vocals, and shane cody on drums & vocals. they released sedona in 2015, ultimately becoming their most popular hit with 106,018,247 listens on spotify. honestly, i'm probably at least 1 million of them. while they might be a lesser listened to band, their fans are definitely devoted. recently, the band has released an album and two ep's since 2018. their newest music comes off a two-song ep titled "california voodoo, pt. ii" which follows their 2018 ep titled "california voodoo." definitely an awesome band to check out if you like alternative/indie! sedona can be found on basically all my playlists, but i'll drop official links below! happy listening :)
